This week the children in B7 had an afternoon tea party. They used fractions to help them cut the sandwiches and cakes into equal parts. They looked at food packaging and how it has changed over the last 50 years and they designed their own bean tins. Then they visited Asda to see how much the prices have increased. (A lot!)
This week B7 have been learning about UK landmarks. They researched lots of facts about Big Ben in London and then compared them to the clock tower in Morpeth. They have been telling the time to 15 minute intervals and showing great progress. On Friday they visited Morpeth to look at the clock tower and draw some detailed pictures. Then as it was such a lovely day they had a walk by the river and played in Carlisle Park.
This week class B7 have celebrated World Book Day by reading and listening to some of their favourite stories. They have found out about the author A.A Milne and the stories of Winnie the Pooh. They made maps of the 100 Acre Wood (the garden) and found the characters from the stories. They then visited some real woods (Plessey Woods) and played Pooh Sticks on the bridges.
B7 also welcomed their teacher Mrs Holly Clark to their class who has returned to school following her maternity leave.
This week class B7 have explored their creativity. They had a āDinosarumpusā where they chose instruments to represent the sound of the dinosaurs and came together to make a lovely sound!
They wrote dinosaur poems using describing words and made a dinosaur scene where they created a movie using āimotionā on the ipad.
They also saw some real reptiles when Animal Antics visited with the animals.
