This week B7 have been learning about UK landmarks. They researched lots of facts about Big Ben in London and then compared them to the clock tower in Morpeth. They have been telling the time to 15 minute intervals and showing great progress. On Friday they visited Morpeth to look at the clock tower and draw some detailed pictures. Then as it was such a lovely day they had a walk by the river and played in Carlisle Park.
B5 have had a lovely week. This week we went on our first trip to Plessey Woods, the children had a fantastic time. We cannot wait to take them back again next week on Thursday morning! In our learning this week we have looked at ‘Monarchy’ please ask the children if they remember the meaning of this word.
We started this week off with a wonderful trip to the park! The children were super sensible walking there and back and played beautifully. They even made room for younger children from a local nursery and offered to push them on the swings!

Weāve learnt how to Highland Dance in PE – we got very dizzy!
We learnt about Scottish landmarks and places to visit. We then recreated the National Portrait Gallery by looking at famous artists and making our own self portraits in their style.

Itās been a glorious week in Blue Class!
On Monday we had a fantastic trip to the library where we listened to a really special story,Ā Dear Zoo, and then went to the park for ice cream!
On Tuesday we played outside during Forest School, and made gorgeous stained glass windows with tissue paper to brighten up our classroom!
On Wednesday we worked together to make incredible models of St Paulās cathedral in our groups, as well as making a great big noise in our music lesson.
Thursday was our maths day, where we learned all about sequencing and telling the time. Then we finished off some of our art projects, ready for Friday!
Friday was art day, and Blue Class finished making their models for our āAll Around the UKā display. Blue class made some amazing landmarks- Landās End, Stonehenge, Tower Bridge and lots of others! We had a fantastic picnic lunch with sausage rolls, sandwiches and decorated cakes, and it was absolutely delicious!

This week, green class have been learning about Northern Ireland.
On Monday we investigated some Irish folklore and discussed how these stories are different from our own. We completed our weekly escape room and created some Irish folklore characters of our own.
On Tuesday we spent the morning completing our models of famous UK landmarks in art. We assessed our models and completed some evaluation forms of the amazing work we have done so far. We then did some amazing coding work, adding some animations to the characters we created on Monday.
On Wednesday we did our weekly CSI challenge to start off the day. We then baked some Irish cookies for our St. Patricks day celebrations on Thursday.
On Thursday and Friday we had some St. Patrick’s day and red nose day celebrations and explored the local environment and land use around the school.
Our tour of the UK has taken us to London this week! First of we looked at where London is and what the English flag looks like.
We loved reading Katie in London and learning about all the sites! We worked in teams to build our own version of the London Tower Bridge using different materials. We also wrote some lovely postcards as though we were Katie and had visited London!
Next up, we learnt about the Royal Family. We looked at their family tree, then made our own.Ā 
On Friday, it was outdoor learning with Rio. We chalked our own holiday scene, just like in Mary Poppins!
Next week, weāll be visiting Scotland and putting on our very own version of the Edinburgh Fringe festival! We canāt wait to share our talents with you!
Last week in Oak Class we went to Woodhorn Colliery for the day. We went for a walk around the museum to see how the coal was mined and moved around the mines. We heard some of the creepy noises that the miners would have heard in the mine and how heavy the coal trucks used to be to move. We ended the day with a play in the new park and had an amazing day out.
This week we have been learning all about Scotland, and our theme was Disneyās Brave. We have looked at the main cities of Scotland, researched our coat of arms and weaved some lovely kilts! We baked some delicious shortbread and created our own stories based on the legend of the Loch Ness Monster! We took a step back in time and looked at what life would have been like during the Vikings times. We designed our own Viking long ships and helmets, and learned how to spell our names in runes! We have had a fantastic week in class this week. What will we learn about next weekā¦?Ā Ā
Children of B11 took part in Work Book Day 2022. Their book focus was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. Children read part of the book, dressed up and took part in a drawing competition of Willy Wonka.
Children of B11 watched Texo deliver the train station in the school yard, which will soon be their school library.
This week we learnt about history, we spent time with the Normans. Discovering about the battle of Hastings 1066, how William the Conquer became king of England. We are creating are own version of the Bayeux Tapestry encouraging the children to use their fine motor skills.
